Susanne is a newbie to Ruby on Rails and programming in general. She was first introduced to programming in February 2013 at a beginners workshop organized by Rails Girls Berlin. Over the summer she participated full time in Rails Girls Summer of Code and together with her pair built and event tracking app from scratch.

Susanne has a master’s degree in English and Scandinavian Studies, and loves travelling and outdoor sports.

    The first Rails Girls Summer of Code is over. 33 women participated worldwide. For many it was the perfect opportunity to get started in the world of web development, but to make sure it’s not just a RoR detour, more has to be done after the Summer of Code to really make a change.
